Junior BJJ Interclub Competition April 2024

On Tuesday 23rd, Paraestra Southampton will be running its second  Junior Interclub. Competitors will be separated into groups based on their experience/time training, age, weight, and rank.

There will be divisions of no more than 8.

Points can be scored as follows:
Sweep/Takedown – 2 points
Knee On Belly – 2 points
Guard Pass – 3 points
Top Mount – 4 points
Back Mount – 4 points
(Sweep/Takedown points will only be awarded if a position is secured straight after the techniques, this includes being in someones guard. Positional Points are only awarded if held for 2 seconds with controlling elements).

A submission (legal submissions listed below), will overall any points earned and granted victory to the competitor that completes a safe and secure technique.

Collar Choke (without spinal lock)
Triangle (without touching/pulling the head)
Kimura
Americana
Arm Triangle (ages 13 to 16 only)
Bow & Arrow Choke (ages 13 to 16 only)
Omaplata (ages 13 to 16 only)

Spectators/parents are allowed without charge but will be limited to 2 per family.

Each entry will be £10 but can be credited/refund if a division can not be found suitable.

Bracket/timings will be published 1 week prior to the event and competitors will need to arrive no less than 15 minutes prior to their division start time. These times will be between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. The youngest age divisions will go first and will end with the oldest age divisions.
