Forms Expo 2025 – Bishop’s Waltham

Our first competition event in 2025 will be the Forms Expo. This will be on Saturday 1st February at the Jubilee Hall in Bishop’s Waltham.

The whole event will be focused around TKD Forms (Patterns, Tuls or Hyungs as others may know them) giving competitors a single discipline to prepare for.

There will be up to 4 categories you can enter:

>Traditional Points (All Ranks)
>Traditional Progressive (All Ranks)
>Freestyle (4th GUP/Purple and above

The Traditional categories include the Forms that are taught/learned for Gradings i.e. Dan Gun at Yellow Belt or Hwa Rang at Red Belt. Competitors will have the opportunity to compete with not only their current Forms being practiced, but previous ones also.

The Points Category allows the competitors the chance to demonstrate their current Form and be scored based on the attributes displayed and compared to others in their division. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the best scoring Forms.

The Progressive Category will have several stages to advance through. Competitors will perform a set of up to 4 pre-selected Forms against an opponent. If they are judged to be the better competitor, they will progress onto the next stage and thus next Form in the set. The last two competitors will have a final demonstration to determine the winner. There will be a 1st, 2nd & Joint 3rd place.

The Freestyle Category give competitors the chance to design a Form of their own. It will follow the same process as the Points Category to determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. This is limited to 4th GUP and above.
